About the Role
Minimizing supplier quality issues using root cause analysis, implementing temporary solutions and permanent countermeasures to ensure minimal line impact and optimal product quality. Using a regional viewpoint, work with assigned suppliers toward continuous improvement of manufacturing characteristics. Support and provide direction for respective team members.
Responsibilities
- Approve part/process changes for design changes and non-design changes.
- Final approval of other associate's part/process changes.
- Approve/confirm supplier countermeasures and approve a part change prior to installation on saleable product.
- Perform in-depth analysis related to the production process to minimize customer concerns.
- Oversee and manage complex problem-solving analysis and investigations.
- Coordinate and lead supplier countermeasure activities to provide an effective solution.
- Manage and support communication with suppliers and other departments regarding countermeasures.
- Negotiate and communicate quality activity with suppliers, in-house departments, and management.
- Mentor new associates within the group on problem-solving, procedures, and fostering development.
Requirements
- Minimum Educational Qualifications: 4-year engineering degree (e.g., mechanical, technical design), 2-year tech degree with equivalent related experience, or 6 years of relevant experience if no degree.
- Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience based on education.
- High-impact problem solver and crisis leader.
- Ability to act with accuracy and urgency for potential high-impact issues without management direction.
- Strong understanding of systemic root cause analysis.
- Good working knowledge of CATIA, HES, Microsoft Office Programs, statistical analysis, and Honda philosophy.
- Excellent communication and networking skills; can easily communicate to all levels of Honda and supplier management.
- Strong training and mentoring skills.
- Experience leading PQCT/PFMEA audits at high-impact suppliers.
Working Conditions
- Ability and potential to travel up to 50% of the time (mix of local, domestic, and international).
- Must be able to work weekends and/or shift changes from 1st to 2nd shift to help provide support during peak times of year or as needed.
- Average overtime hours is 3-5 hours per week.
- This position is a mixture of working on the production floor at the supplier and working in an office environment.

Decision-Making Authority
