Supplier Quality Engineer, Principal (Remote)

About the role

This role will manage sourcing and supplier priorities that improve value, reliability, and operational performance within the Aerospace & Defense space. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate effectively, manage vendors, and support better purchasing decisions. The position offers the opportunity to improve cost discipline, supplier performance, and the processes that support scalable execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage Supplier Quality & Development processes as an individual contributor
• Oversee supplier quality performance and manage nonconforming material processes
• Support supplier onboarding and qualification/certification
• Perform source inspection and material release processes
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive problem-solving for supplier processes
• Support supplier programs for continuous improvement and sustainability
• Analyze quality data and develop corrective actions for supplier quality issues

Requirements

• University Degree with 8 years of experience or Advanced Degree in a related field with 5 years of experience
• Experience in shop floor operations quality support and supply chain operations (8+ years)
• Strong background in electronics manufacturing (Components, CCAs, PWBs, harnesses)
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001, AS9145 APQP, NADCAP Electronics Manufacturing processes, ANSI ESD S.20.20
• Expertise in risk management, continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma), PFMEA, and Control Plans
• Experience in assessing supplier manufacturing processes to avoid disruptions
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively, communicate, and drive improvement actions

Pay

$107,500 – $204,500 annually
