Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on their quality management systems, manufacturing processes, and quality performance history.
- Participate in supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality requirements for materials and components.
- Establish quality agreements and specifications with suppliers to ensure alignment on quality expectations.
- Monitor supplier performance through metrics such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and corrective action responsiveness.
- Conduct regular quality reviews and meetings with suppliers to address issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Investigate quality issues and non-conformances related to supplied materials/components.
- Lead root cause analysis activities and implement corrective and preventive actions to address underlying issues.
- Provide guidance and support to suppliers to improve their quality management systems and processes.
- Offer training and resources to help suppliers meet quality standards and enhance product quality.
- Identify and assess risks associated with supplier quality, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with suppliers to proactively address potential quality risks and prevent disruptions in the supply chain.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality and optimize supply chain performance.
- Implement best practices and quality tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness in supplier quality management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience in supplier quality management or related roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the industry (e.g., FDA, ISO, ASME) is a plus.
