Specialist, Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality)
Job Description
L3Harris Tactical Communications is seeking a Specialist Supplier Quality Engineer to support our cables/connectors sourcing teams. Successful candidates will have a technical background with experience in electromechanical assembly and quality. This role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with quality systems/tools including APQP, PPAP, and part qualification desired.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with suppliers to reduce variability, increase reliability and ensure on-time delivery.
- Focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, and data reporting.
- Facilitate Part/Process Qualification through FAI and PPAP.
- Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing for smooth transitions from concept to production.
- Willingness to travel (25% or more), primarily domestic.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or STEM) and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cables and connectors.
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis.
Pay & Benefits
Salary range for this role in New York state: $73,000 to $135,000. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
