About the role
As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer 1, you will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across Gulfstream’s supply base.
Responsibilities
- Support supplier quality and inspection activities to ensure products meet approved quality system and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance through system, product, and process audits.
- Assess supplier quality systems, personnel, manufacturing processes, and equipment against applicable standards.
- Promote continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, and APQP principles.
- Drive Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives and ensure timely, effective resolution of supplier issues.
- Communicate supplier performance expectations and facilitate resolution of quality concerns.
- Provide technical guidance and support within cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with structural components and supplier quality activities preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Power BI, and SAP.
- Understanding of blueprints, specifications, manufacturing processes, and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and Quality Control System requirements preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies; certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of APQP principles preferred.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification and/or FAA designee experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems, or a related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Entry level.
