Supplemental Workforce Supervisor

About the role
The Supplemental Workforce Supervisor will be located onsite in Bridgman, MI for an approximate 18-month contract assignment. In this position, you will report to a client supervisor and serve as the primary field representative responsible for overseeing contractor and supplemental workforce activities supporting facility maintenance, construction, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects. You will provide daily oversight to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with site procedures, regulatory requirements, and company expectations. The role involves managing multiple concurrent projects, including roofing replacements, flooring installations, concrete and sidewalk repairs, building renovations, utility improvements, and other facility-related construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Contractor Oversight
- Provide daily field oversight of contractors and supplemental workforce personnel.
- Serve as the primary contact between site management and contractor work groups.
- Verify contractor compliance with site procedures, work packages, drawings, permits, and safety requirements.
- Monitor workforce productivity, schedule adherence, quality, and overall work performance.
- Identify performance gaps and promptly communicate concerns to management.
- Safety and Compliance
- Conduct routine field observations and document findings.
- Establish and maintain required permits, barricades, signage, fall protection systems, safety nets, and hazard controls.
- Verify compliance with company safety standards, human performance tools, and work control requirements.
- Participate in pre-job briefs, daily planning meetings, and work reviews.
- Identify changing conditions and ensure appropriate risk mitigation actions are implemented.
- Identify unsafe conditions, procedural non-compliance, or quality concerns and stop work when necessary.
- Project Support
- Help coordinate other teams needed to support contractor activities.
- Resolve field issues and conflicts that impact work execution.
- Track project progress and communicate status updates to project management.
- Assist with schedule coordination and work sequencing among multiple contractors and work groups.
- Documentation
- Maintain daily activity logs and contractor oversight records.
- Document field observations, coaching opportunities, corrective actions, and work progress.
- Prepare written reports summarizing daily activities, issues, and accomplishments.
- Maintain accurate records of contractor performance and oversight activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, industrial, or facilities maintenance.
- Previous supervisory, superintendent, construction management, or contractor oversight experience.
- Proficiency with computer-based business applications.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
Qualifications

- Previous experience supporting projects within the nuclear power industry.
- Experience coordinating and overseeing supplemental workforce personnel and contractors.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards, work planning, permitting, and contractor management practices.
- Experience supporting capital projects, facility improvements, renovations, or infrastructure work.
- Familiarity with project scheduling, budget tracking, and project execution principles.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $35/hour to $47/hour, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
