SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY - TRACK CROSS COUNTRY (GIRLS) (HEAD COACH)

Location: Blanche Ely High School, Pompano Beach

About the role

Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are available. Coaches are responsible for teaching and developing student athletes in the sport, ensuring safety, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Impart knowledge of the sport to participants.
• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
• Develop game strategies and make in-game decisions.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student athletes.
• Foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Computer skills as required for the position (e.g., tracking statistics, communication).

Requirements

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach it effectively.

Qualifications

Head Coach

• Valid Florida Educator Certificate or willingness to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.

Assistant Coach

• No additional certification required beyond the minimum qualifications.

Schedule

Pay

Compensation follows the district’s new-hire teacher salary scale for Head Coaches and the classroom monitor hourly rate for Assistant Coaches.
