SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- HEAD COACH SOFTBALL
Position Goal
The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions at NOVA HIGH SCHOOL are seeking individuals who can lead and support student athletes in their respective sports.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs for student athletes.
- Provide guidance and instruction on the rules and strategies of the sport.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and other staff members.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and school policies.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
The Head Coach must hold a standard high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Florida Educator Certificate. The Assistant Coach must have a standard high school diploma or equivalent, and a knowledge of the activity along with computer skills as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Prior coaching experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills are also valued.

Contact frequency and purposes vary based on the needs of the program. Regular communication with students, parents, and other coaches is essential.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work extended hours during practices and games, including evenings and weekends. Must be able to lift and move equipment and assist with transportation of athletes.
Terms of Employment
This is a non-exempt position with temporary/substitute status. The position is open until filled.
Skills
Knowledge of the sport, leadership, communication, organization, and computer skills are important for both roles.
Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage time effectively, and commitment to student development are key competencies.
Certifications
A valid Florida Educator Certificate is required for the Head Coach. Computer skills are required for the Assistant Coach.
