Supervisory Recreation Assistant NF-03
About the role
This position supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments, plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives, and rates performance. Additionally, this individual serves as a recreation assistant in support of recreational activities.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a recreation assistant in support of recreational activities applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meets qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily completes an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts to include mornings, afternoons, early evening, weekdays, weekends, holidays.
- This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees holding flexible positions are eligible to apply for this position.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid state driver's license.
Requirements
The position requires a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Work experience in the administration of recreation activities such as: prepare activities calendars, maintaining attendance records, providing information concerning schedules and activities, issuing authorized property, and maintaining inventory control.
- Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in courses related to recreation or physical education in support of recreational activities.
Qualifications
Candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Minimum one (1) year experience in the Outdoor Hospitality Industry (recreational lodging, campground operations, resort management or a similar field).
- Experience and knowledge in determining or diagnosing facility maintenance issues.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
