Supervisory Realty Specialist

About the role

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Integrated Services Division, Real Property Program Management Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring real property project priorities and budgets are aligned across the enterprise and the projects being developed and executed are properly programmed.
• Serving as a subject matter expert, judgment is accepted as authoritative in the interpretation and application of laws, policies and procedures affecting real property federally owned/leased facility activities.
• Serving as an authority over realty specialists while also overseeing, integrating, and resource leveling their work.
• Managing cross-functional, strategic assessments needed for the effective and efficient management of the CBP Real Property portfolio.
• Guiding employees in determining the specific amount and type of facility space required; and project planning and management functions including the development of project management strategies; schedules; tracking systems; and budget estimates for approved and proposed projects.

Qualifications

• You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing budget estimates for approved and proposed projects as part of project planning and management functions. Reviewing and participating in contracting actions, including negotiation, review, and evaluation of offers and awards of lease alterations. Managing real estate assignments, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, reviewing space requests, establishing functional criteria, monitoring build-out, and accepting space. Reviewing and analyzing policy and program developments in federal and state real property activities to identify compliance requirements and improve procedures.

Pay

Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.
