About the role
A Supervisory Paraeducator - Greeter supports administration and teachers in the general supervision of students, both on-site and during field trips, while maintaining discipline and ensuring student safety.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8.0 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid break (8.50 total hours per day). Start date: September 8, 2026.
Pay
$23.73/hour per the paraeducator labor agreement.

Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent human relations skills when dealing with staff, students, and the community.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Patience and ability to get along with others, including parents and students.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Ability to operate computers and related equipment.
- Awareness of applicable district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist administration and teachers in supervising students and maintaining discipline on-site and during field trips.
- Supervise students in playgrounds, hallways, lunchrooms, bus areas, restrooms, locker rooms, and parking lots by:
- Moving throughout the supervision area.
- Assisting students (including on and off equipment).
- Assisting injured students.
- Monitoring and responding to student misbehavior.
- Restraining students in extreme cases, consistent with individual student plans and district policy.
- Monitor student behavior, initiate appropriate consequences, and confer with administration, teachers, counselors, or parents regarding discipline.
- Provide information to parents, drivers, and community members during supervision or as a result of disciplinary issues.
- Assist students with special needs, such as using elevators.
- Support classroom teachers by:
- Supervising classes and correcting papers.
- Setting up and taking down classroom materials.
- Escorting children around the building.
- Providing supervision on field trips.
- In early childhood programs, perform tasks such as:
- Diapering and feeding students.
- Reading stories and playing with students.
- Washing toys and paintbrushes.
- Straightening up the room.
- Report clean-up, repair, or general maintenance issues to custodial staff.
- Assist administration in conducting fire drills by ensuring students and teachers follow established safety procedures.
- Perform general clerical functions, including:
- Answering phones.
- Greeting and assisting visitors.
- Operating office machines.
- Opening and distributing mail.
- Filing.
- Other duties as assigned.
