About the Position

Serves as Chief, of the Design Branch under general supervision of the Chief, Engineering Division, Directorate of Public Works (DPW). This position is located in Fort McCoy, WI.

Directives and Supervision

• Directs and supervises the internal activities of the Design Branch.
• Exercises technical supervision over subordinate engineers, architects, technicians, and draftsmen.
• Covers designs with the Chief of the Engineering Division and plans work for subordinates.
• Ensures compliance with Installation Design Guide.
• Prepares contract documents for various types of contracts.
• Plans and selects contractors for continuous service.
• Supervises employees in planning and assigning work.

Technical Responsibilities

• Conducts technical review and cost management of engineering designs.
• Manages contracts and task orders.
• Assists with contract administration or scope of work development.

Qualifications

• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) OR Registered Architect (RA).
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
• Completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture.
• Experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture.
