About the role

Directs and supervises the internal activities of the Design Branch. Exercises technical supervision over subordinate engineers, architects, technicians, and draftsmen. Coordinates designs with the Chief of the Engineering Division and plans work for subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Conducts technical review and cost management of engineering designs.
• Ensures compliance with the Installation Design Guide for all related design functions, activities, and services.
• Prepares contract documents for one-time contracts, Design/Build contracts, IDIQ contracts, and task orders.
• Plans for and initiates development of contracts and selection of contractors.
• Provides technical and administrative supervision to employees.
• Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities.

Requirements

• Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, background investigation, and probationary period.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) OR Registered Architect (RA).
• Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Qualifications

• Basic Requirement for Engineers: Bachelor's degree in engineering with coursework in engineering sciences and techniques.
• Basic Requirement for Architects: Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field with coursework in architectural design and related disciplines.
• Specialized Experience: One year of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, conducting technical reviews, managing contracts, and assisting with contract administration.
