Supervisory Intelligence Specialist (Operations).

About the role

Serves as a Supervisory Cyber Planner for the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade. Develops and maintains Cyber Warfare contingency and crisis action plans to support Full-Spectrum Operations. Supervises a subordinate staff.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development of detailed Operations Orders, Operations Plans, Warning Orders, and Fragmentary Orders supporting Warfighters.
• Integrates and synchronizes Cyberspace Operations Effects with the Joint Warfighter’s plan of action.
• Uses Joint, Service, and Inter-Agency planning and operational experience to conduct strategic, operational and tactical level planning in support of Full Spectrum Operations.
• Develops and maintains contingency and crisis action plans.
• Conducts specialized research and development of software and/or hardware utilized in direct support of Army and DoD requirements.
• Assists in preparing technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents.
• Collaborates with Cyber operators to identify and levy requirements for information, collection and analysis.
• Collaborates with Cyber Operators, Analysts, and Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Engineers to gain access and technical information to meet planning objectives.
• Facilitates the timely and accurate identification of staff responsibilities in connection with the execution of Cyberspace Operations support actions.
• Through regular review of message traffic, intelligence information, data analysis, and from other sources of information, identifies intelligence gaps, then assists in the development of operational programs.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
• Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less.
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Stress is inherent in the nature of work. The many short-suspense actions and pressures of time from nearly all contacts contribute to heightened demands.
• Under crisis operations, may be subject to short notice expanded hours and possible recall situations and irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Overtime/shift work may be required.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG-13 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as:

• Participating in the development in Operations Orders, Operations Plans, Warning Orders, and/or Fragmentary Orders supporting Joint Warfighter Cyberspace Operations;
• Collaborating on action plans to support time-sensitive targeting selection, validation, synchronization and execution of complex cyber missions; and
• Performing code and system analysis of malicious software and hardware technologies in support of Computer Network Operations.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and/or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate:

• Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations;
• Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps;
• Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or
• Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
