Supervisory Industrial Security Specialist

About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Supervisory Industrial Security Specialist to join the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) ICBM Systems Directorate, Security and Information Protection Division (NIS) at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a Supervisory Security Specialist in the Security Integration Branch for the ICBM Systems Directorate Security Division (NIS)
• Acts as the subject matter expert for Special Access Program (SAP), Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) and Acquisition Security, providing related technical advice to leaders and personnel on complex security issues
• Learns and assesses contractor work performance, reviews and evaluates work products, supports missions, and facilitates process development & improvement initiatives
• Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the security branch, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meeting customer needs
• Collaborates with essential division and mission partners for effective warfighter support, providing security management and assistance where needed
• Develops and implements security/technology protection risk, mitigation assessment and mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues
• Engages with supported and supporting Directorate staff, mission partners, associated ICBM program offices and contractors to advise on security requirements

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Top Secret security clearance with special sensitivity, SAP and SCI access eligibility
• Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date
• Employee must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing and participate in random drug testing
• May be required to work overtime or an irregular work shift
