About the role

This position serves as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist of the Benefit and Retirement Unit within the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Human Capital, Human Resources Operations Center, located in Irving, Texas, and Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior analyst responsible for performing work related to the retirement and benefit program
  • Manage strategies and policies that facilitate and enhance the programs and retain a highly skilled and diverse workforce
  • Analyze the current workforce to identify training needs
  • Provide guidance to executives, managers, supervisors, and other staff members on retirement and benefits programs
  • Design and produce policies and strategies to improve timelines and increase productivity within the Retirement and Benefits Unit

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Must successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen. Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service. Must meet all requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Probationary period of one year upon appointment.

Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent, performing at least 3 out of 5 of the following duties:
