Supervisory Health Technician (Surgical)

About the role

Madigan Army Medical Center is seeking a Supervisory Health Technician to join their growing team in Tacoma, WA.

Responsibilities

• Position or assist in the positioning of patient and in draping the patient for the specific procedure.
• Hand instruments to the surgeon during the procedure by anticipating the surgeon's needs.
• Select, assemble, and organize required supplies, equipment, and instruments for specific surgical procedures.
• Wash, disassemble, sterilize, and reassemble instruments after surgical procedure is complete.
• Interview and select candidates for vacant positions.
• Identify the training needs of subordinates.
• Transport patients from hospital units to the Operating Room.
• Screen patient prior to transport to ensure pre-operative medications have been given, jewelry, dentures, and any prosthetic devices have been removed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Certified Surgical Technician certification.
• Conditions of Employment: Background investigation, immunizations/vaccinations, drug testing, physical examination, lifting capacity, weekend and on-call duties, and mission essential status.
