Supervisory Health Scientist
About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with state and local health departments, ensuring that cooperative agreements are guided by CDC recommendations and programmatic guidance.
- Leading health-department based programs and translating scientific findings into public health practice, policy, and programmatic effort.
- Mentoring and supervising programmatic staff.
- Utilizing program evaluation and quality improvement methods, including data collection, management, and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative outcomes.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, performing all the following duties:
