About the role

The position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New Jersey Field Division. The incumbent will serve as the Financial and Procurement Unit (FPU) Chief and will manage and oversee financial and procurement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive management and oversight of Financial and Procurement Unit (FPU) level Business Operations Programs (BOPs) activities and/or functions.
  • Execute and implement at the Division level, operating policies and procedures to support the financial and procurement goals and objectives.
  • Appraise and evaluate the results of overall financial operations regularly and systematically report results to the Business Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate and implement future short and long-range budgetary plans to support the Divisions goals and objectives.
  • Provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the career development program.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Incumbent may be required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450.

Qualifications

  • Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level.
  • Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
  • Planning, managing, and executing the functions and activities of a financial program for an organization, including instructing others on financial management execution.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on the interpretation of financial and budget laws, regulations, policies and procedures to leadership, customers, and subordinates.
  • Advising on contract policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring obligations and expenditures of an organization's program.
