About the role

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is seeking a Supervisory Financial Management Specialist to support the ICBM portfolio valued over $95B. This position is an NH-0501-04 with a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776 - $192,331 (including locality pay).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the ICBM Systems Directorate.
  • Responsible for all aspects of programming, budgeting, and budget execution.
  • Accountable for implementing the ICBM Systems Directorate's policies and business practices.
  • Represents the organization to multiple stakeholders including AFNWC/FM, AFMC/FM, AFGSC/A5, HAF/A8, SAF/FMB, SAF/FMC, OSD CAPE, and OUSD (C).
  • Ensures effective integration of the organization's budget and performance management functions.
  • Serves as Deputy Organizational Senior Functional responsible for demonstrating leadership across the Directorate and the Center.
  • Affairs with financial management personnel of other DoD and Government Agencies, recommends solutions, and provides expert advice through data-driven cost-benefit analyses.
  • Develops consistent messaging related to transformation priorities and resourcing for external stakeholders.
  • Leads program analysis and strategic planning function.
  • Advises on or develops detailed programming materials, including justification and documentation for investments and procurement programs for inclusion in POM and FYDP submissions.

Requirements

  • Top Secret security clearance
  • Travel up to 25%
  • APDP Level 3 in Financial Management within 24 months
  • Level 2 in Financial Management
  • Acquisition Corps membership or approved waiver within six months
  • Commitment to serve for at least three years
  • Financial Management Level 3 Certification within 24 months
  • Engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months
  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related fields is highly desirable

Skills

  • Strong functional background in programming, budgeting, and budget execution including decision support experience
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and influence with other functional and program stakeholders
  • Familiarity with various economic indicators, cost and finance software, tools, and methodologies
  • Mastery of financial management, accounting principles, and AF Internal Controls programs
  • Experience in developing, applying, and adjusting financial plans and policies

Pay

The typical 2026 salary range for this position is $125,776 - $192,331 (including locality pay).
