Responsibilities
Leading collaboration with American Indian Tribes to increase and maintain access to water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.
Performing professional engineering planning, design, and construction oversight activities for community and individual water supply, wastewater, and solid waste facilities to serve American Indian homes.
Preparing project summaries, construction documents, and final reports.
Ensuring accuracy of program data systems for assigned Tribes and communities.
Ensuring that projects to address sanitation deficiencies are properly scoped, consistently scored, and have accurate cost estimates.
Visiting Tribal communities where projects are being planned and constructed.
Providing supervision and guidance to technical and administrative staff as a first level supervisor.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
A valid State Driver's License is required.
This position may require a background investigation and a one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period.
A background investigation is a standard process used by the Federal Government to verify an individual's identity, employment history, education, and other relevant information to determine suitability for Federal service.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11: Experience in the preparation of design documents, construction drawings, technical specifications and procurement documents for water supply, wastewater, or solid waste construction projects.
3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Or a combination of specialized experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Pay
The pay range for this position is determined by the Federal Government and is competitive with industry standards.
