About the role
Join us at IHS Sanitation Facilities Construction! We collaborate with American Indian Tribes to plan, design, and construct water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.
Responsibilities
- Performing professional engineering planning, design, and construction oversight activities for community and individual water supply, wastewater, and solid waste facilities to serve American Indian homes.
- Preparing project summaries, construction documents, and final reports.
- Ensuring accuracy of program data systems for assigned Tribes and communities.
- Ensuring that projects to address sanitation deficiencies are properly scoped, consistently scored, and have accurate cost estimates.
- Visiting Tribal communities where projects are being planned and constructed.
- Providing supervision and guidance to technical and administrative staff as a first level supervisor.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Qualifications
- Degree: Engineering.
- Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
- Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A.
- Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
