About the role

This Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) position is assigned to Diagnostic Imaging at VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. The incumbent oversees daily workflow, maintains proper staffing levels, coordinates leave and schedules, and ensures efficient, high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily workflow
  • Maintains proper staffing levels
  • Covers administrative and clinical duties approximately 40% of the time
  • Schedules staff for days, weekends, nights, and on-call
  • Communicates with medical staff, radiology staff, management, and patients
  • Develops and implements policies and guidelines
  • Manages and resolves informal complaints and grievances
  • Provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters
  • Interviews candidates for positions in the unit
  • Recommends employee appointments, promotions, or reassignments
  • Reviews and approves or disapproves leave requests based on department policy

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States
  • Advanced ARRT certification is required for assignments that include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or mammography (M) duties performed independently, as applicable
  • Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies recognized by the Department of Education (DOE)

    • Ability to evaluate quality management procedures and processes

    • Skill in developing new policies and guidelines as needed
    • Skill in problem solving and conflict resolution
