Duties Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist in the Regional Contracts Department of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.

Requirements

  • At least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

  • Specialized experience must demonstrate the following performing Contract Specialist work involving application of a master of knowledge of procurement regulations, contracting principles, and negotiation techniques to plan, develop, implement, maintain and administer all contractual aspects of an assigned acquisition program and to serve as a contractual authority and advisor on the acceptability and applicability of contractual matters related to an assigned acquisition program.

  • Demonstrated expert application of managerial and administrative policies, practices, and techniques in order to lead/manage others.

  • Examples of specialized experience include:

    • Contribute to the planning, management and execution of a contracting and acquisition program;

    • Plan, develop, and establish the contractual strategy for complex/multi-million dollar acquisitions involving coordination of a number of contracts;

    • Utilize a full range of contracting methods and contract types to plan and carry out complex and long range pre-award and/or post-award contracting actions;

    • Perform the full range of contract administration duties for complex/high dollar contracts including issuance of contract modifications, negotiations of changes, investigations and resolution of contractor delays, disposition of claims, and close-out;

    • Lead and/or supervise a team of contracting personnel that contributes to an acquisition program.
