Supervisor, Warehouse - Sunbelt Supply
About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor ensures efficient operations of one or multiple locations and/or distribution centers. Responsibilities include financial management, operational performance and analysis, planning and execution, distribution, fleet management, inventory management, vendor management, and leadership, including performance management. This role is not responsible for sales.
Manage designated areas of Warehouse Operation, oversee functional areas, and perform managerial duties as assigned. Responsible for consistent application of SOPs (Standard Operating Policies) and associate administration in the facility.
Responsibilities
- Trains staff to ensure attainment of department performance goals
- Manages and ensures successful achievement of performance goals of assigned functional areas
- Controls warehouse expenses
- Ensures compliance with all personnel policies
- Ensures a safe working environment for all associates, including surveying facility for repair and maintenance items, promoting and managing safety programs, and ensuring policy adherence for workers compensation and general liability issues
- Ensures the Asset Protection and Hazmat programs are enforced
- Opens and closes the distribution center, authorizes refunds, and handles customer problems
- May act as manager and performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Technical certification or Associate’s degree may be required in some areas
- Generally, 5 to 7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Continually required to sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk, or hear
- Continually utilize visual acuity to read technical information and/or use a keyboard
- Occasionally balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
- Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds; ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and loud noise (e.g., shop tool noises, electric motors, moving mechanical equipment)
- Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing
- Long hours of computer-based work
- Ability to work a full day in a non-climate controlled warehouse setting
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office and warehouse environment. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers are used. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required.
