About the role
The Supervisor- Warehouse Distribution leads the shift in areas of shipping, loading, receiving, warehouse storage, product rotation, inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with UNITED policies and applicable laws
- Interviews, hires, and trains associates
- Plans, assigns, and directs work
- Appraises performance
- Addresses complaints and resolves problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Covers all shipping/receiving along with transportation
- Oversees all inventory control and product rotation
- Manages Shipping/Receiving Department, Inventory, Repack, Gate, or Night Loading
- Maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the units listed above
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
- Accurately approves and maintains employee time approval
- Manages employee scheduling such as vacation, sick, and requested time off
- Trains employees on OSHA monthly trainings
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 12 months to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to become certified in forklift, riding pallet jack, and motorized vehicles
