About the role

The Supervisor- Warehouse Distribution leads the shift in areas of shipping, loading, receiving, warehouse storage, product rotation, inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with UNITED policies and applicable laws
  • Interviews, hires, and trains associates
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work
  • Appraises performance
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Covers all shipping/receiving along with transportation
  • Oversees all inventory control and product rotation
  • Manages Shipping/Receiving Department, Inventory, Repack, Gate, or Night Loading
  • Maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the units listed above
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
  • Accurately approves and maintains employee time approval
  • Manages employee scheduling such as vacation, sick, and requested time off
  • Trains employees on OSHA monthly trainings
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 12 months to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to become certified in forklift, riding pallet jack, and motorized vehicles
