About the role
The Logistics Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for the Logistics group. Oversees team efforts to handle the inbound and outbound freight needs of products for all of the company's distribution centers, external customers, and processors. Strives to minimize overall supply chain costs without compromising quality, reliability, or service. Manages and supports inventory management and performance improvement projects. Serves as liaison between central and regional teams, ensuring coordination of demand signals and availability among distribution network tiers, including vendors, consolidation warehouses, and distribution centers.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day guidance and direction to assigned Supply Chain Logistics personnel.
- Directs team efforts, including:
- Tracking local ordering and fulfillment requirements
- Monitoring in-house warehousing and storage
- Working with third-party suppliers and transporters to organize and schedule deliveries
- Managing truck planning and delivery
- Documenting and coding products and delivery items
- Preparing periodic reports detailing actual versus expected deliveries and discrepancies
- Monitors timeliness of all activities, resolving conflicting priorities and resource allocation issues.
- Prepares regular updates for management on the team’s processes and status.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable organizational policies and government regulations.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience
- BA/BS Degree (preferred)
- Possession of one of the following certifications:
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM)
- Certified Professional in Contract Management (CPCM)
