Supervisor, Warehouse

About the role
The Shipping Supervisor oversees the daily work activities of the Shipping Team, ensuring inventory is stored safely, accurately, and securely. This role supports production goals through timely and accurate delivery to production supply areas while maintaining best practices for inventory accuracy and team development.
Responsibilities
- Put Safety first at all times; never compromise safety for other objectives.
- Provide supervision, work direction, and training coordination to shipping & receiving staff.
- Oversee warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials for AEC SLC Operations.
- Manage shipping methods to reduce freight costs.
- Prepare shipping documents for finished goods, coordinating with QA and accounting personnel.
- Coordinate freight shipments and prepare shipping documentation, including export paperwork.
- Perform all relevant SAP transactions.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of incoming/outgoing shipments.
- Maintain inventory control accuracy for all warehouse/materials controlled areas.
- Conduct monthly finished goods and raw material inventory counts.
- Monitor and control production reports to ensure accurate data entry into inventory.
- Load and unload freight vehicles.
- Ensure availability of shipping supplies and package goods for shipment as required.
- Drive continuous improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Observe, support, and contribute to company safety programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Execute employee performance management consistent with company policy.
- Interact and coordinate with plant logistics systems and activities, including Production, Inventory Control, Procurement, Quality, and Customer Service.
- Oversee formal evaluations, performance management, recruitment, and team cohesion for the work group.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving/warehouse.
- MRP/ERP systems experience, SAP preferred.
- MS Office skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- 2-year degree preferred or High School Graduate with relevant work experience.
Working Conditions
- Indoor production environment with adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.
- Ability to work a 24/7 schedule as business situations require.
- Travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally position self to move items over 10 lbs.
- Frequently move about the production floor and office area for meetings or trainings.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.
- Frequently operate a computer, enter data, and verify information.
