Supervisor/Therapist, Community Counseling Youth Services (Cuyahoga County, OH)

About the role

The successful candidate will join OhioGuidestone, the state's leading provider of behavioral health services, serving approximately 26,000 Ohioans annually. OhioGuidestone focuses on the holistic needs of individuals through telehealth and in-person prevention services, mental health, and substance use treatment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the values and guiding principles of OhioGuidestone, performing with the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and ethics.
• Direct supervision of assigned staff including hiring, supervision, and high emphasis on employee development, ranging from growth within current positions and expanding leadership and supervisory skills necessary to ensure agency success.
• Provides management and will provide clinical oversight of the community counseling department.
• Affirms fiscal accountability of all assigned programs and services, enhancing and maintaining organizational and cross-functional agency processes that impact and are impacted by assigned programming.
• Aids in the development of realistic budgets, ensuring that assigned services are adequately documented and billing requirements are met.
• Develops detailed project plans and Logic Models to clearly define and monitor program goals and agency strategic initiatives.
• Adapts programs and services to enhance the agency's ability to serve the needs of the community.
• Assumes a leadership role in the interpretation and support of agency policies (including HR, PR, and Communications).
• Develops a therapeutic relationship with each client, providing individual, group, or family therapy as needed.
• Maintains minimum productivity level of face-to-face contacts per week based on a 37.5-hour work week to be determined by the supervisor.
• Assumes a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge.
• Participates in all treatment conferences and meetings for the client.
• Provides in-service training as requested.
• Available on call by cell phone during non-work hours for clinical consultation and crisis management.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in direct clinical supervision and management of a community counseling department.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of community behavioral health services and best practices.
• Experience with fiscal accountability and budgeting.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple court contracts and oversee juvenile justice programming.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing program outcomes measures.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field may be required for funding sources.
