About the role
The Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground at Star is responsible for managing underground telecommunication construction crews, ensuring installations, maintenance, and repairs are completed safely, timely, and accurately.Responsibilities
- Oversees and leads crews to complete installation, maintenance, and/or repair of telecommunications equipment and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and safety in the completion of daily production goals.
- Supervises day-to-day activities and progress, establishes guidance on execution, and ensures compliance with predetermined deliverables.
- Captures and coordinates with the manager to invoice jobs in a timely manner.
- Ensures all safety policies, OSHA, DOT, and special requirements of a project are in compliance with each crew assignment.
- All accident investigations, including job damage, employee injury, and vehicle accidents, will be responsibility of the Supervisor.
- Communicates professionally with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist in an assigned area, department, or project.
- Identifies and course-corrects issues and risks, and assists in the development of response plans to resolve.
- Affirms compliance with all company safety policies.
- Manages staffing, training, and performance management of employees with assistance from Human Resources.
- Manages equipment repair, maintenance, and rental with assistance from the Fleet department.
- Interfaces with customers frequently to discuss needs and goals.
Requirements
- To be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
- To pass a background check and company drug screening.
- To have a valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
- Experience working in telecommunications or utility construction.
- Proven leadership experience guiding employees to produce high-quality results and foster teamwork.

- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with and resolve problems with multiple variables.
- Language Skills:
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, machine manuals, and process procedures. Ability to write reports and speak effectively to customers, coworkers, and vendors.
