How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Operational Oversight: Supervise daily operating room (OR) activities and oversee processes to ensure the efficient, effective, and safe delivery of health services.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Partner with physicians, leadership, and staff to streamline operations and resource utilization, while managing the hiring, training, and professional development of team members.
- Clinical Quality & Communication: Maintain clinical competency to support direct patient care while facilitating clear communication between the OR and other units to proactively resolve delivery issues.
Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
- One of the following required (obtained prior to hire or job transfer):
- Certified Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant credentialed from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification.
- Registered Nurse.
- Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Associates who hired/transferred before 04/30/2018 are not required to hold certification.
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Preferred qualifications
- One of the following: Registered Nurse; Certified Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant credentialed from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification; Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); or Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
