About the Role

As our Clinical Supervisor of Surgical Services, you will coordinate daily operations, including scheduling and staffing, while serving as a primary liaison between hospital leadership, physicians, and families. You will supervise and educate department staff, ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and Dignity Health standards, and maintain a sharp focus on cost containment and time management. This role integrates clinical expertise with administrative leadership to mitigate risk, uphold professional standards, and provide direct patient care when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in selection, training, and evaluation of subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policy and organizational philosophy.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of department policies and protocols.
  • Understand, communicate, and enforce hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the orientation of personnel, provide educational resources, and serve as the resource person.
  • Mentor staff and plan and implement shift reports.
  • Assist management in developing the department operating budget and maintaining compliance with budgeted expenses, resources, and staff productivity.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activity of the department, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, addressing patient concerns, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
  • 1-3 years of Surgical service line nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Surgical Services Leadership experience.

Pay

$54.76 - $81.45 per hour.
