Responsibilities
- Manage Supply Chain operations in a cost-effective, efficient, and safe manner.
- Oversee the organization and operation of the supply room, including space and shelving requirements, bin naming and allocations, and Lawson system maintenance for item details.
- Supervise Receiving and Distribution employees and activities, including couriers.
- Monitor receiving and distribution processes to ensure proper functioning.
- Establish and monitor par levels for the supply room and inventory locations across the hospital, balancing efficiency with avoiding stockouts or call-downs.
- Maintain the integrity of inventory information in Lawson, including quantity, product information, and cost details.
- Perform periodic cycle counts and annual inventory counts to ensure accuracy of on-hand quantities.
- Research and explain unusual adjusting entries in the general ledger arising from the Lawson Material Management System.
- Train Distribution and Receiving staff on Lawson applications and processes.
- Monitor and report Supply Chain associate performance, inventory turnover rates, stockouts, call-downs, and days of supplies on hand, adjusting par levels and processes as needed.
- Monitor and act on daily order confirmations through Advocate online reports.
- Conduct monthly one-on-one reviews with all direct reports and document the reviews.
- Monitor and report on Supply Chain operation achievements and areas of opportunity.
- Work with Corporate Supply Chain to resolve purchasing and contract compliance issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to Nursing and other departments regarding supply availability, prompt responses to questions and requests, and meeting supply-related patient or departmental needs.
- Collaborate with distributors and manufacturers to resolve order and delivery issues.
- Meet with vendors to review performance scorecards and suggest service enhancements.
Requirements
- High School diploma and some college courses.
- 1-2 years of supervisor experience.
- 3-4 years of prior materials management/inventory control experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Skills
- Advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Ability to function well under pressure and frequent interruptions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in basic office software such as Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Materials Management Information Systems for ordering and inventory functions.
