About the Role
Serves as a working shift Supervisor for daily operations, directing, training, and coordinating an assigned shift for services provided to airlines and charter aircraft. Leads by example with integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills, motivating teams to achieve results while treating people fairly and with respect. Demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, directs, and participates in Customer Service and Ramp Services operations for contracted commercial flights and charter aircraft, including:
- Passenger check-in and security screening
- Baggage transfers to and from aircraft
- Aircraft cleaning, lavatory services, and aircraft power unit hookups
- Directs and trains assigned Agents, including new employee training and ongoing in-service training (e.g., monthly compliance and yearly safety training). Maintains required training records.
- Implements departmental policy as directed and advises the FBO Director and Regional Manager on policy issues, including recommendations for operational improvements.
- Coordinates Services activities with air carrier personnel, station managers, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) representatives as required.
- Operates and trains on various equipment, such as:
- Aircraft loading bridges
- Baggage tugs and carts
- Belt loaders
- Electric carts
- Lavatory and portable water carts
- Air starts, towbars, and portable stairs
- Ensures compliance with FAA and TSA security regulations, airline corporate rules, and operational directives. Implements changes as directed and attends required meetings.
- Maintains emergency checklists and supplies.
- Prepares and submits verbal and written reports related to service activities and Agents.
- Updates the Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) as required.
- Coordinates communications between Airport, airline dispatch personnel, and flight captains, including:
- Passenger manifests
- Weight/balance
- Fueling requirements
- On/off times, uplift, flight release, and weather packages
- Handles business-related responsibilities, such as billing, payment data updates, cash handling, supply ordering, and similar duties.

Physical Demands
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, climbing, and reaching from ground level to overhead.
- Pushes, pulls, lifts, and carries heavy objects (up to 75 pounds), including luggage and packages, in confined aircraft cargo spaces or on/off conveyor belts.
- Responds to audio-transmitted information or alarms.
- Distinguishes colors (e.g., aircraft wingtip lights and instrument panel lights).
- May stand for long periods.
Work Environment
- Works both indoors and outdoors with exposure to extreme weather conditions, dust, and pollen.
- Subject to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and toxic waste hazards associated with aircraft, vehicles, equipment, and fuel.
- Exposed to constant and extreme noise, strong odors, fumes, and poor lighting (e.g., night shifts).
- Possible exposure to disease due to aircraft lavatory work.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in the aviation industry (highly sought).
- 6 months of experience equivalent to an Airline Service Agent, including ticketing and/or Ramp Services support (highly sought).
- Must complete initial/advanced Operations Services training required by individual airlines within the probationary period.
- Thorough working knowledge of aircraft types used at the station.
- Thorough working knowledge of current FAA/TSA security directives, passenger processing, and baggage transfer procedures.
- Possesses a valid Driver’s License.
- Must obtain and maintain:
- Complaint Resolution Official (CRO) certificate (if required by airlines).
- Ground Security Coordinator certificate for aircraft over 61 seats (within probationary period).
- Certificates of training upon hire: De-Icing/Anti-Icing (if required), Aircraft Pushback, security search, and Security Exit Door training.
- Must pass a background investigation, including a fingerprint-based criminal records check (per Title 14 CFR Part 1542 and Airport Security).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic random drug testing (per 49 CFR Part 40 for safety-sensitive employees).
- Must be able to work a variety of assigned shifts, including evenings and weekends.
