About the role

The Supervisor, Shubert Center Clinical Laboratory oversees daily operations within the clinical laboratory at the Shubert Center, ensuring high-quality testing services and staff performance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory operations, including workflow management and resource allocation.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to laboratory staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
• Oversee quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing programs.
• Participate in test validation, method evaluation, and instrument troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with medical and administrative leadership on operational improvements.
• Assist with budget management, supply inventory, and cost-containment initiatives.
• Support staff training, competency assessment, and professional development.
• Address and resolve operational or technical issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Previous supervisory or lead experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, including CLIA and CAP standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with laboratory information systems and quality management.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.
