About the Role

Performs and supervises crew members in the inspection, mechanical maintenance, and repair of Park rides. Oversees inspections, maintenance, and repairs for all ride attractions and equipment. Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete maintenance records.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises subordinate crew members; duties include scheduling, instructing, assigning, reviewing, and planning work; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; addressing employee problems; recommending and approving discipline; and recommending employee discharge.
  • Inspects rides; troubleshoots mechanical problems and assists subordinate mechanics with repairs as required.
  • Designs parts and components as necessary.
  • Determines preventive maintenance schedules and ensures prompt response to work orders.
  • Inspects all in-house and contracted work in progress and completed for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, specifications, and safety/quality standards.
  • Coordinates maintenance projects with other Park departments, contractors, and ride manufacturers.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance and safe operating condition of all assigned equipment.
  • Reviews records and reports, including inspection records, logs, schedules, work orders, downtime reports, rehab reports, accident/incident reports, guest complaints, invoices, price quotes, and specifications.
  • Prepares and maintains purchase orders, performance appraisals, schedules, inspection reports, logs, budget reports, downtime reports, incident/accident reports, safety meeting agendas, work orders, memos, and other reports.
  • Operates vehicles, rides, mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical control systems, overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, hydraulic presses, air compressors, diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, generators, steam cleaners, sandblasters, and other tools/equipment (e.g., computers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, two-way radios, cameras).
  • Uses computer and clerical supplies, meters, gauges, measuring devices, mechanic’s tools, hoists, climbing equipment, drafting tools, and various hand/power tools.
  • Interacts and communicates with supervisors, Park managers/staff, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and manufacturer representatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Vocational/technical training in maintenance/mechanics preferred.
  • NAARSO Level 1 Ride Inspector certification preferred.
  • AIMS Level 1 certification preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of verifiable experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or amusement setting.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of prior leadership experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check (including credit, criminal, DMV, employment, education, and personal references), unless prohibited by law.

Pay

$70,304 – $90,500 per year, based on overall experience.
