Job Description
The Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor provides frontline leadership to ensure service excellence, compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, and optimal staff engagement. The position requires the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals from all clinical disciplines regarding activities related to the improvement of medication use. Ensures that all activities are consistent with overall hospital objectives.
Essential Functions
- Manage and lead the provision of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy patient care services and operations for areas of responsibility.
- Supports the mission of the Department of Pharmacy in the training and guidance of pharmacy students and residents.
- Responsible for operational systems to ensure appropriate processing and dispensing of prescription medications.
- Collaborates with pharmacy leadership in development and review of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all pharmacy staff maintains appropriate credentials on file.
- Serves as a mentor to pharmacy staff, aiding in the development of the operational and clinical staff.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
- Comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Education and Experience
- Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy (required)
- Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency or three (3) years of relevant work experience (required)
Knowledge and Certifications
- Knowledge of third-party programs and other health maintenance programs (preferred)
- Licensed or license eligible as a pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (required)
- Current certification in Basic Life Support or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire (required)
- Current Immunization Delivery certification or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire (required)
