Supervisor, Respiratory Care Services - Nights
About the role
The Respiratory Care Supervisor leads the Night Shift Respiratory Care team at WakeMed's Raleigh Campus, a Level I Trauma Center. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop Respiratory Care team members through ongoing feedback, performance management, and career development
- Foster engagement, accountability, and a high-performance culture aligned with WakeWay Everytime behaviors
- Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies
- Participate in internal and external candidate selection processes
- Maintain professional competence and provide direct clinical care as needed
- Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based respiratory care across all patient populations
- Serve as a clinical role model and escalation resource during night shift operations
- Oversee administrative workflows and daily respiratory care operations
- Coordinate staffing, daily assignments, and patient coverage
- Avoid inaccurate scheduling, timekeeping review, and staffing adjustments
- Coordinate daily work activities and ensure timely posting of schedules
- Participate in short- and long-term departmental planning
- Promote efficient workflows and operational readiness during overnight hours
- Promote evidence-based practice through education, protocols, and standard work
- Participate in quality assessment, process improvement, and practice evaluation
- Ensure compliance with WakeMed policies, standing orders, and regulatory standards

Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Required - And NC Respiratory Care Practitioner Required
- Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy Required - And Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy Preferred
- 6 Years Clinical - Respiratory Therapy Required - And 4 Years Leadership Required
