Supervisor, Registered Nurse Operations - Dermatology

About the role

The Nursing Supervisor supports a high-performing, integrated dermatology practice across five clinic locations. This role partners closely with clinical and operational leaders to oversee day-to-day nursing operations, support a team of 85+ staff, and ensure consistent, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key bridge between hands-on clinical care and operational leadership—supporting staff, optimizing workflows, and leading coordination of projects and process improvements across the department.
  • Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet policy.
  • Provides supervision of the daily operation of a single designated medical unit or two similar designated medical units of limited size requiring registered nursing expertise, assuring goals and objectives are obtained through the planning, implementing, and directing of programs, procedures, systems, and support personnel.

Requirements

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Graduate from a course of study in nursing resulting in an associate degree, diploma or baccalaureate degree and at least one year related supervisory or three years related non-supervisory experience required.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Current state Registered Nursing License required and BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership skills in organizing, planning, and directing an operation and its staff.
  • Intermediate level computer/keyboarding skills required, including but not limited to email, word processing, spreadsheets, and calendar.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
  • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, Defibrillator, Various Health Testing Devices (specific to the area of specialty), Blood Drawing or Injection Devices, Thermometer, and Blood Pressure Equipment.

Skills

  • The ability to exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
