Nurse Practitioner - Dermatology

About the role

The Pacific Skin Institute is an established, but rapidly growing dermatology practice seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to join their team. Previous Dermatology experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a comprehensive 4-month in-house training program that includes intensive on-the-job training, independent reading and learning, shadowing of multiple physicians and administrative staff, and medical writing.
• Gradually assume responsibility for direct patient care under supervision.
• Lead a clinical team consisting of a Medical Scribe and MA to assist with documentation, notes, and administrative tasks such as patient call backs, Rx and procedure authorizations.
• Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude with patients, colleagues, and staff.
• Assist in the teaching and learning environment of Pacific Skin Institute.
• Participate in medical writing assignments, including website/blog content, practice newsletters, and research publications.
• Attend weekly provider lunch meetings, lunch & learn sessions, and grand rounds.
• Participate in clinical research if interested.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner
• Dermatology preferred but not required
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Situational awareness and a high level of emotional intelligence
• Humility and a willingness to learn
• Experience working in a diverse and varied patient population
