Job Overview
The Supervisor of Radiation Therapy plays a crucial role in guiding a skilled interdisciplinary team and shaping safe, efficient, and compassionate treatment delivery at TriHealth's radiation centers. This position involves leading daily operations, supporting staff development, and maintaining clinical excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to work with other departmental teams including physicians, nurses, physicists, and dosimetrists to efficiently solve and implement solutions around workflow issues.
- Oversee supply, equipment, and environmental related activities across all centers.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise. Appropriate personnel are notified when a solution is not identified.
- Appropriately utilize the electronic medical record and Record and Verify system.
- Deliver accurately a prescribed planned course of radiation therapy to patients, answer patient questions, and explain procedures.
- Maintain professional rapport with patients throughout their course of treatment.
- Document annual competencies for all radiation therapists to meet ODH, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance measures and performance improvement programs to ensure quality patient care.
- Facilitate Continuous Quality Improvement and Morbidity/Mortality meetings according to ACR guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health Biological Fields (or equivalent)
- Varian Linear Accelerator Aria EMR
- ARRT Ohio Licensure
- 5-7 years' experience in Clinical Radiation Therapy
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to concentrate frequently and think/reason frequently
- Ability to use hands frequently, reach frequently, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and stand for long periods
