Job Overview

The Supervisor of Radiation Therapy plays a crucial role in guiding a skilled interdisciplinary team and shaping safe, efficient, and compassionate treatment delivery at TriHealth's radiation centers. This position involves leading daily operations, supporting staff development, and maintaining clinical excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with other departmental teams including physicians, nurses, physicists, and dosimetrists to efficiently solve and implement solutions around workflow issues.
  • Oversee supply, equipment, and environmental related activities across all centers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise. Appropriate personnel are notified when a solution is not identified.
  • Appropriately utilize the electronic medical record and Record and Verify system.
  • Deliver accurately a prescribed planned course of radiation therapy to patients, answer patient questions, and explain procedures.
  • Maintain professional rapport with patients throughout their course of treatment.
  • Document annual competencies for all radiation therapists to meet ODH, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance measures and performance improvement programs to ensure quality patient care.
  • Facilitate Continuous Quality Improvement and Morbidity/Mortality meetings according to ACR guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health Biological Fields (or equivalent)
  • Varian Linear Accelerator Aria EMR
  • ARRT Ohio Licensure
  • 5-7 years' experience in Clinical Radiation Therapy

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to concentrate frequently and think/reason frequently
  • Ability to use hands frequently, reach frequently, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and stand for long periods
