Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily laboratory operations.
- Perform and support routine and non-routine analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to laboratory staff.
- Review analytical results, laboratory documentation, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Ensure proper operation, calibration, qualification, and preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Lead or support laboratory investigations including deviations, non-conformances, OOS results, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with internal quality systems, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide direct supervision and coaching to laboratory staff, including technicians and chemists.
- Support development, revision, and implementation of laboratory SOPs, analytical methods, and technical documentation.
- Maintain laboratory performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Promote and maintain strong laboratory safety practices.
- Act as a leader and example for the company’s Behavioral Standards.
- Perform other duties and technical assignments as required.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Soil Science, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering or related field. - 3+ years of hands-on experience in an analytical or quality laboratory. - 2+ years of demonstrated leadership, coordination, or supervisory experience. - Strong technical and communication skills. - Strong understanding of laboratory quality systems, documentation, and investigation processes.
Preferred Experience: - Experience working in GMP, ISO or similarly regulated environments. - Experience training or supporting new laboratory staff.

The salary range for this role, in Biola, CA, is between $68,400 - $107,470.
