Responsibilities

  • Evaluates written data from sales orders, budgets, product specifications, operation travelers, parts and material inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operations and workflow.
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains the master manufacturing schedule.
  • Develops and maintains material delivery schedules that meet established product delivery dates, accounting for material lead times, special testing, preparation, or packaging requirements.
  • Maintains production budgets, including “Material Estimate to Complete” data.
  • Distributes work orders to functions, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
  • Confers with manufacturing, engineering, and planning to resolve problems affecting production and delivery schedules.
  • Determines work schedules and expedites workflow.
  • Maintains and enforces company-required and standard operating policies and procedures, including ESD, contamination control, traceability, MSDS, and safety.
  • Develops and administers performance reviews, assigns improvement goals, monitors performance, and recommends wage adjustments or advancements per company policy for assigned personnel.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Interviews and screens prospective material and production control personnel to divisional standard operating practices.
  • Studies and standardizes manufacturing procedures and systems to improve efficiency.
  • Maintains harmony among assigned workers and resolves grievances.
  • Maintains attendance records and dispenses disciplinary action as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • May be asked to perform other duties not outlined in this description.

Requirements

  • BA degree, trade school, or better in Material and Production Control technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience in the Military or Aerospace Electronic Manufacturing environment, with the last 2 years in hands-on material/production control and stockroom in an electronics manufacturing area.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with MRP.
  • Supervisory/managerial skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to train assigned personnel.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, schematics, drawings, parts lists, SOW, specifications, military specifications, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Team player with the ability to interact with all functions including manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and engineering disciplines.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and other computer peripherals in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISO-9000 & 9001 experience.
  • IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 experience.
  • Team or self-management teams experience.
  • Work experience in Space-related equipment.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,304 - $128,000. Range depends on job location, skills, and experience. Microchip offers a total compensation package that includes competitive base pay, restricted stock units, quarterly bonus payments, health benefits (beginning day one), retirement savings plans, and an industry-leading ESPP program with a 2-year look-back feature.
