Supervisor, Production - 2nd shift

This role reports to the Production Manager and is based in Seabrook, New Jersey. The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates line employees, directly responsible for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Waste, and Customer Service. This position ensures the highest quality of products, coaches line operators, and is responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of people and products.
• Troubleshoot equipment individually and through coaching operators during downtime.
• Assist operators in resolving mechanical and operational issues related to equipment stops and breakdowns.
• Work with the operations department to facilitate a teamwork approach between production and maintenance.
• Define project priorities and provide direction to production staff.
• Monitor team performance and audit activities to ensure quality work and product standards.
• Provide leadership, set expectations, and give routine feedback on performance.
• Manage the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process, including problem statements, root cause analysis, and countermeasure implementation.
• Work with improvement teams to identify and implement reliability improvements.
• Develop, post, and communicate procedures/processes that support production strategies.
• Utilize preventive and predictive operator maintenance techniques to minimize equipment breakdowns.
• Manage personnel plans to set the team up for success.
• Develop and implement operator preventative maintenance systems.
• Maintain the plant CIL program, Changeover Program, Startup/Shutdown procedures, and Machine Centerline process.
• Assist in the selection of new hires and manage the production training program.
• Understand line control, bottle flow, and can flow to balance production lines.
• Analyze staffing and productivity calculations to set and communicate targets.
• Coordinate with the maintenance department to optimize production line performance.
• Analyze data using computers to set and communicate measures and targets.
• Operate all plant machinery and troubleshoot machine setup issues.
• Develop training standards and work instructions for production processes.
• Ensure all production preventative maintenance items are completed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Manage 10-20 employees; provide constructive feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplining.
• Conduct training and implement systems, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and publications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required).
• College degree or equivalent (strongly preferred).
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience using a PC and business information systems/software.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Frequent: Sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck, fine finger dexterity, light to moderate finger pressure (keyboard/mouse use), side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque for equipment knobs/dials.
• Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp for manuals/books, lifting objects up to 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders, transporting objects up to 50 feet.
• Vision: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Pay

$77,000 - $116,000 per year plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location.
