Supervisor, Production - 2nd Shift

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable Supervisor to oversee daily operations, manage team performance, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will serve as a leader, mentor, and communicator for your team while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards. Success requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and time-management skills, along with the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment.
This position is located at our Main Plant facility and may involve up to 25% travel.
Responsibilities
- Supervise production operations for assigned units or shifts, including workers operating machinery, assembling items, performing quality control, or packaging goods for shipment.
- Notify maintenance or engineering departments when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
- Monitor output against established schedules or quality goals.
- Coordinate workflow through the department, ensuring sufficient inventory levels and appropriate staffing to meet demand.
- Lead and direct employees, with responsibility for personnel actions such as hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions (with HR and management concurrence).
- Analyze information to solve ongoing problems and implement procedures to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage projects effectively.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work inside and outside with exposure to varying climates and operate machinery.
- May be required to work a different shift; position is safety-sensitive.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.
- Project management and planning skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk or computer for extended periods.
- Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety hazards, though some exposure to outdoor conditions may occur.
