Supervisor - Production 2nd Shift
About the role
The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently achieved. This role leads and develops a team of production associates and line leads, fostering engagement, accountability, and strict adherence to HACCP, GMP, FDA, and BRC requirements.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily huddles and team meetings to communicate production priorities, safety expectations, quality standards, and operational updates.
- Ensure accurate production reporting and data entry within SAP, ERP, and WMS systems to monitor performance, yields, labor, and key operational metrics.
- Monitor staffing levels and allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity, improve OEE, minimize downtime, and reduce waste.
- Oversee product quality and equipment performance, resolving production issues and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Enforce sanitation, hygiene, PPE, and equipment cleaning standards to maintain a safe and food-safe manufacturing environment.
- Lead, coach, and develop production associates by providing training, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, standardize processes, and improve overall operational performance.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of production associates, partnering with the Production Manager, General Manager, and People Team to build a high-performing workforce.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and formal evaluations for line leads, associates, and temporary employees, promoting accountability, employee engagement, and continuous development.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment by resolving workplace issues fairly and effectively while reinforcing company policies, culture, and a strong customer-focused mindset.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food storage, or food handling environments.
- 1+ years of leadership experience directing, coaching, and developing production teams.
- Experience working in a regulated food manufacturing environment with HACCP, GMP, FDA, and BRC standards preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP and production systems (e.g., Infor M3, CAT2, SAP, or similar manufacturing software).
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, production workflows, quality systems, and food safety requirements.
- Experience leading or supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements, solve operational problems, and make sound decisions using root cause analysis.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills with the ability to motivate employees and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and reporting tools.
- Comfortable working in cold production environments and flexible schedules, including early mornings, weekends, and Sundays as business needs require.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a positive, hands-on approach.

Benefits
Workspace Environment: Prolonged periods of standing. Moderate level of noise exposure due to the impact of frozen fish on metal transfer chute and forklift usage; earplugs are required. Exposure to a cold working environment; temperatures between 38-45 degrees Fahrenheit. Frequent contact with frozen products and exposure in freezers with below zero temperatures; protective personal equipment provided.
