About the role

Manage manufacturing operations with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, and cost while supporting a culture of continuous improvement. Supervise and develop a team of manufacturing personnel to ensure consistent execution of production schedules, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily press manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals are achieved.
  • Supervise and support 2nd shift press crews in a fast-paced printing manufacturing environment.
  • Establish performance expectations and provide coaching, development, and accountability for direct reports.
  • Conduct daily production and shift meetings to review schedules, production priorities, quality concerns, and operational issues.
  • Cook with Scheduling, Material Handling, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials, paper, inks, and components are available to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor pressroom operations to ensure print quality, production efficiency, and adherence to SOPs and customer specifications.
  • Support investigations related to production issues, customer complaints, and corrective actions using TrackWise or similar systems.
  • Maintain pressrooms, equipment, inventory, and work areas in a clean, organized, and audit-ready condition.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are completed, and equipment remains in safe working conditions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, waste reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitor employee training compliance.
  • Track and report production and departmental performance metrics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations and business needs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot printing and manufacturing issues in a production environment.
  • Strong organizational and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent through coaching, training and performance management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and manufacturing software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, including cleanroom conditions where required.

Qualifications

  • BS degree highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in the printing (preferred) or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in label, packaging, or regulated print manufacturing preferred.

Skills

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $79,100.00–$118,700.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
