Supervisory Role

The supervisor ensures efficient and effective pharmacy operations, collaborates with local and enterprise pharmacy leadership, promotes pharmacy practice, and supports caregivers in achieving optimal operational and clinical outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises pharmacy caregivers to ensure efficient and effective pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborates with local pharmacy leadership to evaluate department needs and support enterprise initiatives.
  • Promotes pharmacy practice and ensures caregivers work at the top of their licensure.
  • Engages with leaders and team members to improve and optimize operational and clinical outcomes.
  • Coordinates training and onboarding of new caregivers.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, departmental policies, and procedures.
  • Helps establish quality measures and key performance indicators to improve pharmacy operations and patient care.
  • Responsible for caregiver engagement and human resource functions.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • License to practice pharmacy in a state where Intermountain Health operates or eligibility to obtain a license upon hire.
  • Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
  • Previous experience working in an integrated healthcare delivery system preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
