Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor

About the role

This job supports the daily functions of the clinical pharmacy team, including implementation, maintenance, and quality assurance of clinical pharmacy services. Demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and is committed to maintenance of clinical competency, continued professional growth, and advancement of pharmacy practice within the institution.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient care responsibilities.
• Develops and inspires an engaged workforce.
• Implementation and quality assurance of clinical pharmacy services.
• Supports quality improvement and initiatives.
• Models and ensures accountability to company, departmental, and professional values.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

Qualifications

• Education: Required - Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Preferred - Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency in Pharmacy Practice, Post-Graduate Year 2 residency.
• Work Experience: Required - 1 year experience practicing in a hospital or academic setting, Preferred - 3 years’ experience practicing in a hospital or academic setting.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all members of the health care team, Leadership and teaching skills.

Skills

• Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
