Description

Responsible for the 24-hour operation of the Inpatient Pharmacy Department. Responsible for achieving established quality and financial budget outcomes. Selects, develops, and maintains a team of competent staff. Holds self and team accountable for achieving the highest level of quality of care, customer service, and employee satisfaction, and recognizes the contribution for desired results. Driven to meet and exceed customer expectations. Will assist the Pharmacy Director in setting the long- and short-range goals of the Pharmacy based on developments and trends in an institutional pharmacy practice and the specific needs of the institution and its patients. General Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy required.
• Advanced education such as Pharm.D. Degree or Master of Science degree in Hospital Pharmacy with equivalent curriculum preferred.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
• Registers with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and assures that all aspects of that responsibility are followed.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Iowa in good standing or eligible for registration.
• Five years’ experience in hospital pharmacy with experience in administration, supervision or other leadership or management role preferred.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet.
